Research and development on the new Impreza S-GT (WRX in America) is proceeding smoothly. We already have a prototype twin-tip exhaust system done and fitted to the car. Constructed of stainless steel, it looks like a finished production piece! It is quite nice and quite quiet. Official noise testing was conducted nearbye, and it actually was a bit too quiet. While it is 5 decibels louder than stock at idle, at higher rpm's it was nearly as quiet as stock.
So we are going to look at adding a bit more rumble in the jungle to the exhaust before the final product. This will never be a noisy exhaust, instead we will have another (and cheaper!) single tip exhaust for users looking towards ultimate performance.
