After the pace we set at Heathcote last time we knew that we had to get back out there and try again. So round came another Friday night and we set off to Calder Park Raceway for some Legal Off Street Drag Racing. We were keen to beat the time we set last time for the VX at 11.1 at Heathcote Park.
With the VX Utilizing our bolt on twin turbo kit through a stock 346ci engine, at full weight shifting a factory 6-speed manual trans. The weight with driver and a full tank of fuel is 1803kg.
The night started off with a good run of 11.36 at 128.13mph. The best was yet to come, however.
We let the car cool down for an hour before its next run to insure that the engine had cooled sufficiently. This proved to be a wise decision, as the next run of the night gave us an ET of 11.12 at 129.20mph which ended up being the best run of the night.
The other runs gave us times of 11.37 at 128.01mph and an 11.22 at 130.47mph.
Imagine what it would do with a good automatic and little less weight – wonders will never cease.
