Our trip to SEMA was a bit less eventful this year, as we were not flying in from Japan this time, instead flying from the Seattle office. After a bit of haggling at the rental car counter, we left with a Chrysler 300M instead of a Honda Accord. The 300M may not handle that great, but it's a lot of fun in a straight line. Well, a semi-straight line if you turn the traction control off. It never stayed on for long.
Up early in the morning and we were off for the first of 3 days of walking, talking, standing, and drinking. It's not exactly an easy trek, SEMA, other the fact it's flat. There is a lot of floor to cover, and so much stuff in jam-packed into every single corner you feel sort of obligated to walk some sections more than once.
There was not a lot in the way of new Japanese cars at the show, with the new Subaru WRX being the newest performance vehicle at the show. So new that very few people had had their hands on one for any length of time. So the heaviest modified 08 WRX had to be the Harman Motive model in the Subaru stand with a rotated turbocharger kit. Could have gone with a bolt-in AVO turbocharger, guys... ;)
This is just part one of four, still recovering from the show!
