Seaside Subaru Cruise March 21st, 2009
Read more...What started as an informal gathering and cruise organized through the nasioc.com Subaru owners forum soon grew into a major event with over 60 cars gathering at the starting point early Saturday morning. The cruise was to go from Portland, Oregon to Seaside, Oregon. The start point was from the RalliTEK office in Portland, as they had quickly come on board and volunteered their time, parking lot, and staff to help get the event going.

As this was a largely informal gathering started by nasioc.com forum member, even RalliTEK was anticipating that their parking lot would be more than adequate for everybody. But before even the official starting time the parking lot was filled to capacity and then some, and soon people had to resort to parking up and down both sides of the street outside. It probably helped that, despite all the dire warnings of inclement weather by the various news organizations, the day was quite nice and sunny.

AVO Record breaking EA Ford still at it
Read more...Many years ago, AVO Turboworld in Australia built up a EA Ford Falcon for a Guinness World Record entry, for top speed towing a caravan (those small trailers). They achieved that goal, winning in 1991 with their 1990 model Ford. We were so successful that that record held for several years. After several years in service, the AVO Falcon was retired to a parking garage for several years. Then in 2006, the car was sold to Tony Granic, a avid fan of the old EA Ford Falcons. A long time customer of AVO, he just had to have that piece of automotive history.

Tony didn't buy it to just store away, he is now using it in the dyno challenge circuit in Australia. Recently, another dyno shootout was held Sunday the 22nd of February at F&T Mechanical in Hallam Victoria.  It was held at their workshop using a Dynamic Test Systems Dynamometer, same brand as used by AVO.
