AVO Turboworld is proud to announce the new AVO380 v2!
The AVO380 is one of our smallest upgrade turbochargers for turbocharged Subaru's, yet it is quite a large size increase from stock. With 44 lb/min of air flow, it's a hefty increase over your stock turbocharger, up to 35% more! More air into your turbocharged motor means power - a lot more power. But how much air a turbocharger can flow is only part of the equation, for the efficiency of your compressor and exhaust housing design is just as important. That is why we've gone back to the drawing board and re-designed both of those elements. |

New AVO Silicone Inlet pipes Ver.2 for the 2002-2007 Impreza WRX and STI.
Part number: S2A00G41BBLU • S2A00G41BBLK • S2A00G41BRED
MSRP: $249.00! NEW Pricing!
Our one-piece Silicone Inlet pipe for the 2002 through 2007 Impreza WRX and STI has been improved for both fitment and strength! While retaining all of the design characteristics that made it so popular in the first place, our engineers went back to make some minor changes that will improve fitment around the turbocharger area. Specifically, the kink around where it mates up to the turbocharger is more pronounced, for better fitment around the TGV area. |

AVO Turboworld Japan just got done fitting our new twin mufflers to the 2010 Legacy for sound testing and fitment testing! As you can see from the photos and the video, both tests went very well. You can also catch a peek of our prototype cat-back piping under there as well, which is also proceeding nicely. We expect to have complete cat-back exhaust systems available for the 2010+ Legacy Sedan and Wagon available from February of 2010. |

2009 HyperRev Tsukuba Super Battle at Tsukuba Circuit
This is basically the wrap up to the year in motorsports within Japan, the big last time attack. And the AVO widebody STI is entered this year, going toe to toe with the hottest tuner cars throughout Japan. Not just Subaru's and Evo's, this is against everything - Skyline GT-R's from the R32 to present, S2000's, Silvia's. The Works.
We've got a couple of tricks up our sleeve for this contest. One is over 500 ft/lbs of torque. Way over, to be exact. The other is Yoshihiro Yoshida, Prova's ace driver.
December 8th practice of one hour went well. The car was dialed in, and there was plenty of power. Because it was only for practice, we ran on the Hankooks from last year. For the actual event, we will switch to Yokohama 050 S tyres, which are much grippier. Even though this was just a practice day on less than optimal tyres, the driver Yoshida-san ended up pulling a 1.00.008 second lap time! That would have placed us third of Subaru's in last year's competition. |

One of our most recent shop projects was a fairly comprehensive build-up on a customers 2006 Subaru STI, which included a full Cosworth engine. After the usual tithe of blood, sweat, and tears the end result was quite brilliant with nearly 300 kW at the wheels. Usually that would be quite enough. Usually. But just the other day, he called us up again, and wanted just a touch more power - 380kW at the wheel was his new goal for club sprint racing. I told him that it would not be easy, but it was possible. |

Subiefest is held annually by the magazine of the similar name, Subiesport. The main course is track events, from tuner battles to time trials, a drag race, and a parade lap for Subaru owners. Which is what Subiesport is all about, Subaru owners and Subaru's in general. This year, as like last year, Subiefest was held at Willow Springs Raceway in California. Located about an hour outside of Los Angeles in the Mojave desert, this is probably the last place you'd find an AWD Subaru in normal circumstances.
But here we all were. Quite a few of us at that, with a crowd of owners from the greater California area, and more than a few from outside it as well. Subiefest traces it's own origins to the Pacific Northwest area (where AVO is located as well), more of a stronghold for Subaru's than California is. No surprise in that, the Northwestern corner of the United States specializes in inclement weather. Weather reporters in California have it easy (aaaaaand today, it's sunny too!), whereas up here the weather predictions are a bit more imprecise (today, it'll be sunny! And it'll rain. Plus there's a possibility of snow showers, hail, and typhoons!). |

It's hard to pass up invitations from a Japanese magazine to participate in a time attack event, especially when you have a race-prepped widebody STI sitting in the shop that's ready to go. So after receiving just such an invite from the biggest tuner magazines in Japan, Option/RevSpeed, it felt kind of mandatory to go. That's was our story, at least.
The downside of such events, however, is getting there. Traffic is never good, and usually is heavily on the Worst side of the railroad tracks. There are ways to handle this, one that is especially popular with our shop manager Esumi. It's a simple, effective plan. It's called getting up at 3am in the morning and driving to the circuit. This reduces traffic on the roads to merely heavily crowded, as opposed to "Stop, stop and sometimes go for next 20 miles". |
